On-device storage
Dashcam footage is stored on the vehicle's DVR unit and overwritten on a rolling basis as storage capacity is consumed. Retention duration depends on the installed storage size, recording resolution, and number of cameras — typically ranging from approximately 10 to 30 days under normal operating conditions.
Cloud storage
Where cloud upload is enabled, footage triggered by configured event settings (such as harsh braking, collision detection, or manual marking) is uploaded and retained on secure servers:
·Event-triggered footage: retained on the server until removed by the fleet operator, or for a maximum of 3 months.
·User-uploaded footage: drivers or fleet operators may manually upload selected recordings to the server for review or evidence purposes; uploaded footage is retained for up to 3 months.
Contact & billing records
Customer and financial records are retained for as long as necessary to provide services, and a minimum of 7 years for financial and contractual records.
Storage location
Data may be stored and processed in New Zealand or with cloud providers operating in jurisdictions with comparable privacy protections (including Australia and the United States under appropriate safeguards).
